On Thursday (September 23, 2021), Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) announced a new collaboration with world renowned contemporary artist Cyril Kongo for a jointly designed ACJ TwoTwenty special cabin edition. Cyril Kongo (aka Mr. Colorful) has a strong pioneering spirit that complements the ACJ team’s innovative mindset, turning the extra large business jet into a flying contemporary art gallery. The signature cabin has been designed to deliver comfort, connectivity and functionality, while Cyril Kongo’s unique touch brings the design to a next level of emotion. The notable main lounge feature will be partially hand painted by Kongo, combining carefully chosen branded textures and fabrics to create a sumptuously comfortable luxury private art gallery space.

The special edition cabin has been proudly curated to allow guests to properly rest or enjoy fine dining with family and friends, while admiring the colorful bespoke atmosphere. Cyril Kongo and the ACJ design team took full advantage of the ACJ TwoTwenty’s large fuselage, which is at least twice as wide as many other business jets, allowing for a spaciously crafted table, accommodating up to eight guests. ACJ has selected Comlux as the exclusive completion partner for the first 15 aircraft.

Above all, Cyril Kongo is an urban artist and part of the first generation of French graffiti artists. Committed and revolutionary, he was instrumental in defending graffiti as a school of full-fledged art. When speaking about his discipline, Kongo evokes its technical and visual complexity, describing the art as “savoir-faire”. The merging of calligraphic abstraction, fluid lines and spontaneity, allied with a clear purpose have made him an unprecedented artist of global critical acclaim. In order to achieve his vision, Cyril Kongo is mastering his urban vocabulary, while highlighting the cultural richness of ancient techniques.

The ACJ TwoTwenty will have an intercontinental range of up to 5,600 nm (10,500 km) over 12 flight hours, with the ability to directly connect city pairs such as London and Los Angeles, Moscow and Jakarta, Tokyo and Dubai or Beijing and Melbourne. The aircraft features 73m2/785 ft2 of floor space and will be the only business jet to offer six large VIP living areas, allowing up to 19 passengers to work, share, dine and relax. The ACJ TwoTwenty benefits from the ACJ DNA which includes ultimate comfort, intercontinental range and pioneering technology.

Since being launched in late 2020, the aircraft has already won six orders. Comlux will take delivery of the first ACJ TwoTwenty this winter and the first aircraft will enter service in early 2023.
