On Wednesday (May 1, 2024), Air Canada announced the launch of their new motorcoach service between Hamilton and Region of Waterloo airports and Toronto Pearson.  Operated in partnership with The Landline Company, the new service will provide seamless one-stop connectivity to Air Canada’s global network.  Travelers will enjoy riding on premium Canadian-built motorcoaches, which are fully accessible and feature leather seats, power outlets and complimentary Wi-Fi.  Additionally, intermodal customers will appreciate full itinerary protection, as well as the ability to earn Aeroplan points.  Customers can now create a single itinerary when booking travel with Air Canada from Waterloo Region or Hamilton to any destination.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Air Canada’s Director – Regional Airlines and Markets, Ranbir Singh, said,

“We are excited to launch this new service in collaboration with The Landline Company, offering our customers a convenient, stress-free multimodal option that will make connections easy and travel more seamless.  We are committed to improving regional services and this innovative partnership is a testament to that.  Passengers who choose to travel between airports using Landline's top-tier motorcoaches will enjoy similar benefits as those who opt for air-only connections: a convenient single itinerary, when departing Hamilton or the Region of Waterloo, disruption protection and Aeroplan earning opportunities.”

Also commenting on the launch of the new intermodal travel option, The Landline Company’s Vice President – Commercial, Nick Johnson, said,

“We are thrilled to launch our premium connecting service from Hamilton and the Region of Waterloo in partnership with Air Canada.  In addition to premium onboard amenities, and a protected flight connection on every trip, passengers can now book and ride our luxury motorcoach for no additional cost when paired with their Air Canada flight.”

Landline will now operate six daily nonstop trips to Toronto Pearson from each of the southern Ontario airports.  Air Canada guests starting their journey at Hamilton or Region of Waterloo airports will check in as normal for their flight and obtain boarding passes for all trip segments.  Next, they will board a luxury Air Canada-branded motorcoach at a designated departure point at the airport, and their checked baggage will be loaded.  When they arrive at Toronto Pearson, travelers will then proceed directly with their bags to the departure level.  If a coach or flight is delayed, customers traveling with Landline will automatically be rebooked, just as customers traveling on an air-only itinerary.
