Air Canada Inaugurates New Service Between Vancouver and Manila

Air Canada has launched new service between Vancouver and Manila in the Philippines. The route will now operate year-round four times per week, becoming Air Canada’s 12th destination in the Asia-Pacific region.

On Tuesday (April 1, 2025), Air Canada announced the launch of their inaugural flight between Vancouver (YVR) and Manila. Celebrations were held at the airport in Vancouver on April 1st, prior to the departure of flight AC017 at 01:55 on April 2nd. The flight will arrive in Manila on April 3rd at 06:20 local time. Air Canada will now operate the Vancouver-Manila route year-round four times per week, with Manila becoming the carrier’s 12th Asia-Pacific destination.
In Monday’s announcement, Air Canada’s EVP – Revenue and Network Planning, and President of Cargo, Mark Galardo, said,

With more than one million Filipinos living in Canada representing an important market, direct air services are a catalyst to facilitating tourism, trade and connectivity, and represent the fastest way of travelling to Manila. Whether you start or end your journey at our Vancouver Pacific hub, or one of our conveniently connected network destinations, we are thrilled to welcome you onboard our newest Asia-Pacific flight.”
Also commenting on Air Canada’s new Manila service, Vancouver International Airport’s President and CEO, Tamara Vrooman, added,
“We are delighted to welcome this new service to Manila, and thank Air Canada for its continued investment in YVR as part of their growing network between Canada, the Philippines and beyond. This new non-stop route builds on our already strong air access to the Asia-Pacific region and will facilitate even more onward connections, enabling greater travel and trade from YVR.”

In addition to Manila, Air Canada’s transpacific network includes destinations in Japan, South Korea, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, SAE, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. For summer 2025, Air Canada will offer over 180 weekly flights between Canada and the Pacific, the most non-stop flights of any airline in the market.
