Air Canada has opened their first Maple Leaf Lounge at San Francisco International Airport’s Terminal 2. The new 165-seat space features an outdoor terrace and a range of premium amenities, and is the carrier’s 28th lounge globally.
On Wednesday (July 12, 2023), Air Canada announced the opening of a new Maple Leaf Lounge in Terminal 2 at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This is the airline’s 28th Maple Leaf Lounge globally, and Air Canada’s third U.S. lounge. The modern and exclusive 165-seat space features Air Canada’s first outdoor lounge terrace, along with a range of premium amenities and food and beverage options. At 8,168 square feet (761 square meters), the comfortable space elevates Air Canada’s flight and airport experience for guests traveling from California to Canada or through to Europe, Asia and Australia via Toronto Pearson, Montreal Trudeau, and Vancouver International Airports.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Air Canada’s Managing Director – Products and Services, Jacqueline Harkness, said,
“We’re thrilled to bring our Maple Leaf Lounge experience to San Francisco International Airport, giving our Bay Area customers a way to enjoy Air Canada's award-winning product and glowing hearted hospitality from the moment they arrive. It's one more way we're investing to become San Francisco's favourite way to travel internationally.”
Air Canada’s new SFO Maple Leaf Lounge pays homage to California through both design and décor, as well as the food & beverage selections, which highlight local producers and flavors. Unique seafood offerings include the iconic San Francisco fish stew cioppino, will be offered along with a selection of California wines, and beer from the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. The lounge features a hot and cold self-serve buffet, as well as a bar and bartender serving a curated selections of wines from both California and Canada, a cocktail menu, espresso and more.
The new Maple Leaf Lounge was designed in partnership with the San Francisco-based architectural firm Gensler, and is the first of its kind featuring an outdoor terrace with runway views, featuring two vapor fireplaces by Canadian firm CF + D. As previously mentioned, the lounge features 165 seats, with 135 interior and 30 exterior seats. The lounge also features showers with heated towel racks, as well as a VIP room for up to 10 people, and is adorned with artwork by Canadian painter Shawn Evans and California artist Amos Goldbaum.

Air Canada’s Maple Leaf Lounges, including SFO and the new United ClubSM in Newark’s Terminal A, are available to Air Canada customers who are Aeroplan 50K 75K, and Aeroplan Super Elite Status members, as well as Star Alliance Gold members, Aeroplan premium co-branded credit card holders, and customers departing on a Business Class ticket with Air Canada or another Star Alliance member airline.
