Air Canada to launch New Service From Montreal to Edinburgh, Adds Capacity to Paris, Rome and Athens

Air Canada has today announced the launch of new service between Montreal and Edinburgh for summer 2025, complementing existing service from Toronto.  The carrier will also add capacity to Paris, Rome and Athens.

On Monday (March 31, 2025), Air Canada announced the launch of new service between Montreal and Edinburgh, Scotland, for summer 2025.  This will complement the carrier’s existing service from Toronto to Edinburgh.  Flights from Montreal to Edinburgh will be operated with a Boeing 737 MAX, offering Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins.  Air Canada is also adding nearly 1,300 weekly seats to Paris and Athens, and will also extend their peak Toronto to Rome service until October 2025.   


In Monday’s announcement, Air Canada’s EVP – Revenue and Network Planning, and President of Cargo, Mark Galardo, said,


“Air Canada is excited to add the only non-stop flights between Montreal and Edinburgh!  Our new flights will link Scotland to Canada's second largest metropolitan area, bringing additional travel choices to the legendary land of castles, lochs and more through our extensive network at our Montreal hub.  We are also adding flights to Paris, Athens and Rome from our Toronto global hub this summer to meet expected demand.  At Air Canada, we are proud to support tourism as well as connect people visiting friends and family.  We look forward to welcoming customers onboard our flights.”

Air Canada will also add three new weekly flights to Paris from Toronto on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, for up to 10 weekly flights on the route, as well as 14 weekly flights between Montreal and Paris.  Additionally, two new flights will be added from Toronto to Athens on Tuesdays and Fridays, with the additional frequencies extended until October.  In total, Air Canada will offer up to 10 weekly flights between Toronto and Athens, as well as 10 weekly flights from Montreal to Athens.  Up to four additional frequencies to Rome will also be extended until October, with a total of up to 12 weekly flights from Toronto, and nine from  Montreal.
