On Thursday (August 19, 2021), Air France announced the unveiling of their new lounge in Terminal 2F at Paris-Charles de Gaulle. In collaboration with Air France and Group ADP, the entire space and most of the furniture was designed by the Jouin Manku Agency, founded by Canadian Architect Sanjit Manku and French Designer Patrick Jouin. The creative team used the concepts of levitation and grace to guide the lounge design. The new lounge will welcome Business Class guests and Flying Blue Elite Plus members traveling on Air France’s short and medium-haul Schengen network. With a surface area of 3,000 square meters, the lounge is one of the airline’s largest and features 570 seats over two levels, offering spaces for customers to rest, freshen up, work or enjoy a meal prior to departure.

When designing the lounge, carefully curated materials such as terrazzo, lava stone, wood, leather and other fabrics were selected to last over time. The lounge features solid and functional furniture designed for optimum comfort, while Air France’s signature colors, shades of blue and white with a hint of red, are featured throughout. Additionally, the airline’s historic winged seahorse brand symbol serves as an accent and a reminder of the airline’s rich and vibrant history. Guests entering the lounge will be welcomed by Air France teams, and to ensure fluidity, kiosks allow customers to scan their boarding pass to enter the lounge directly. A luggage area and display cabinet offering Air France Shopping travel accessories is also available.

Once guests have passed through the reception area, they will discover a giant work of art which has been inspired by the wings of an aircraft, symbolizing flight, technology and the avant-garde, while reinforcing the ‘cocoon’ spirit that dominates the lounge. The heart of the lounge features a huge, curved window that lets in a northern light that illuminates the space and offers spectacular views of the sky and airport runways. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available and there are ports for recharging personal electronic devices. Flying Blue Ultimate guests will enjoy their own dedicated area, which is directly accessible from the reception area and offers a fully personalized experience.

Gourmet catering kiosks are located on each level and offer a change of selections throughout the day. For a quick bite, mini sandwiches, salads and hot quiches are always available. The lounge also features a dedicated counter with pancakes for breakfast and chef’s specials for lunch, as well as an aperitif service. Naturally, the offer designed in the spirit of a French bistro is completed with a selection of cheeses and desserts. The wine list has been selected by Paolo Basso, the world’s best sommelier in 2013, and features a wide selection of wines and champagnes. For those wishing to relax, a large ‘detox’ area is available and features a wide range of herbal teas.

At the heart of the lounge, a giant staircase invites guests to discover the upper floor and enjoy the runway view. The space features a dedicated area with large, comfortable loungers and subdued lighting, as well as comfortable recliners. Additionally, a Clarins treatment area offers guests the opportunity to experience the new ‘Traveller Spa’ concept with options including express beauty or radiance treatments and 20 minute tailor-made facials. Finally, for those wishing to refresh, a wellness area offers ten showers and a changing room. The new Air France lounge is located between the two boarding areas at Terminal 2F at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and is open daily from 05:30 through 22:00.
