Yesterday, Air New Zealand announced the grand opening of their new lounge at Nelson Airport which is nearly twice the size of the previous space. The new lounge is located on Level 1 of the new Nelson Airport terminal and is arranged in several zones so guests can choose their preferred atmosphere. The space features a café, buffet and light refreshments, including a self-service drink station. Additionally, the new lounge features a business work area and a lounge as well as quiet areas for guests wishing for a little rest and relaxation. In Friday’s announcement, Air New Zealand’s General Manager – Customer Experience, Nikki Goodman said,

“This beautiful lounge is a haven for customers, allowing them to sit and relax or get some work done ahead of their flight. It also has impressive views overlooking the runway and out to the mountains. We look forward to welcoming our customers to this impressive and significantly larger space in the new state-of-the-art terminal at Nelson Airport and it’s great to have it up and running before Christmas.”

The new Nelson Airport lounge is part of Air New Zealand’s $60M investment in lounges throughout New Zealand over the next two years. Recently, the airline tripled the size of their regional lounge at Auckland Airport and new lounges are planned for both New Plymouth and Napier.
