Air Tahiti Nui will start twice-weekly service between Papeete and Seattle on October 5, 2022 with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Guests arriving in Seattle will enjoy the new, soon-to-open International Arrivals Facility at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
On Thursday (May 12, 2022), Air Tahiti Nui announced the launch of new twice-weekly Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner service between Papeete (PPT) and Seattle (SEA) from October 5, 2022. With the new route, Tahiti will become Seattle’s southernmost destination and the first in the Southern Hemisphere. Guests arriving in Seattle will also be able to enjoy the soon-to-open new International Arrivals Facility (IAF) at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which will dramatically improve connection times, efficiency and service. Tahiti is Seattle’s sixth new international destination announced since 2020, including Doha, Calgary, Belize City, Montreal and Helsinki.
In Thursday’s announcment, Air Tahiti Nui’s Managing Director, Mathieu Bechonnet, said,
“North America is a key market for our destination. So, when we decided to open a second gateway on the West Coast, Seattle was a natural answer for us. I would like to thank our partners at Alaska Airlines and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for their warm welcome and support in making this happen.”
Also commenting on Air Tahiti Nui’s new service, SEA Airport’s Managing Director, Lance Lyttle, said,
“Seattle is honored to be only the second U.S. destination for Air Tahiti Nui. We’re excited that Seattleites will now have yet another magical destination to explore, whether that’s Tahiti itself or other nearby islands like Bora Bora or Mo’orea.”
Air Tahiti Nui was founded in 1996 to connect the world to one of its greatest treasures, the islands of Tahiti. The carrier completely renewed their fleet in 2019 with Boeing 787-9 ‘Tahitian Dreamliners’. The carrier offers service between Tahiti and Paris, Los Angeles, Auckland, Tokyo and Seattle (from October 5, 2022). Through codeshare agreements and interline partnerships, Air Tahiti Nui’s extended network includes 39 top destinations including Sydney, Beijing and New York.
