Alaska Airlines has today announced the launch of Mobile Verify, a new service that allows customers to verify their passport from home.
On Tuesday (August 29, 2023), Alaska Airlines announced the launch of their Mobile Verify program, which allows customers to securely verify their passport from home. Travelers leaving or entering the U.S. are required to have their passport verified by their airline, and starting today, guests traveling internationally with Alaska Airlines, and using a U.S. or Canadian passport, can use the Mobile Verify program. This means that customers can now save valuable time by avoiding lines in the lobby or at the gate, and enjoy an expedited airport experience. The Mobile Verify platform, powered by Airside, an Onfido company, is Alaska’s latest tool, building on their vision where everyone has access to useful self-service tools.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Alaska Airlines SVP – Innovation and Merchandising, Charu Jain, said,
“We’re reimagining the entire guest experience at our airports with the goal of getting you through the lobby in 5 minutes or less. We’re investing in technology that takes processes traditionally only available at an airport and makes them possible from your smartphone. This new Mobile Verify technology creates a seamless airport experience for guests traveling internationally — eliminating the uncertainty that comes with having to wait in airport lines.”
Also commenting on the technology collaboration, Onfido’s General Manager for Airside, Adam Tsao, added,
“Alaska has highly loyal guests thanks to the quality of their service and their commitment to consumer privacy. We’re proud Airside is helping deliver on this commitment and empower all those who travel on Alaska Airlines with fast, private, and easy airport experiences by putting digital identities in the hands of their flyers.”
