American Airlines is expanding their schedule from Austin this fall with 10 new domestic and four new international destinations. In total, American and their partners will offer nearly 100 peak daily departures from the Texas capital this autumn.
On Thursday (June 10, 2021), American Airlines announced a major schedule expansion from Austin (AUS), Texas this fall including 10 new domestic and four new international destinations. Combined with their partners Alaska Airlines, British Airways and JetBlue, American will offer nearly 100 peak daily departures from the Texas Capital this autumn. Flights on the 14 new routes will be available for purchase from June 14, 2021 on aa.com. American Airlines first launched service to Austin 40 year ago this week and the additional flights will add more seamless connectivity to the carrier’s global network.
In Thursday’s announcement, American Airlines’ Vice President of Network Planning, Brian Znotins, said,
“Earlier this year we added more flights from Austin, and customers have spoken: they want more. We're eager to offer our customers even more opportunities to reconnect with family, friends and colleagues. Together with our partners, we’re making it easier than ever to connect Austin with the world.”
Also commenting on American’s network expansion, Austin’s Mayor, Steve Adler, added,
“For the past 40 years, American Airlines has connected Austin and Central Texas with the world. We couldn’t be happier with today’s announcement of new and expanded service in AUS. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with American for many more years to come.”
American’s new domestic routes from Austin include service to El Paso (ELP), Cincinnati (CVG), Indianapolis (IND), Kansas City (MCI), St. Louis (STL), Jacksonville (JAX), Oklahoma City (OKC), Reno (RNO), San Juan (SJU) and Tulsa (TUL). New international service from Austin this fall includes flights to Cancun, Mexico (CUN), Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR), Puerta Vallarta, Mexico (PVR) and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ). American Airlines will also begin year-round service from Austin to Los Cabos, Mexico (SJD) and Nassau, Bahamas (NAS).
Speaking on the carrier’s Austin expansion, American Airlines’ Chief Customer Officer, Alison Taylor, added,
“We’re delighted our customers will continue to benefit from our joint business and alliances through these increased routes. Austin is an increasingly important market for both our leisure and business customers, and we will continue to deliver our world-class customer service as the market expands.”
