American Airlines Adds 30th Destination in Mexico as Part of Record Breaking Schedule

In December 2025, American Airlines will launch nonstop service to their 30th destination in Mexico, Puerto Escondido. The carrier will operate a record schedule to Mexico this year, with more flights and seats than ever before.

On Thursday (April 10, 2025), American Airlines announced the launch of new nonstop service between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Puerto Escondido, Mexico (PXM) starting December 3, 2025. Flights between DFW and Puerto Escondido will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays with an Embraer E175 featuring a Premium cabin. This will become American’s 30th destination in Mexico, and is part of their largest-ever schedule to Mexico, with more flights and seats than ever. American Airlines offers more connectivity between the U.S. and Mexico than any other carrier.
In Thursday’s announcement, American Airlines’ VP – International, Contact Center Operations and Service Recovery, José A. Freig, said,
“With the announcement of American’s 30th destination in Mexico — Puerto Escondido — we further solidify our position as the leading U.S. airline in the country with an operation and network that is unmatched. Puerto Escondido is quickly becoming a top destination for travelers in search of tropical and relaxing getaways, and we are confident that our new service from Dallas-Fort Worth will offer our customers the opportunity to experience a unique part of Mexico.”

American Airlines also launched new service to Tampico (TAM) in March, and will also offer the only international service from Oklahoma with new flights to Cancun (CUN) from November. During 2024, American launched three new Mexican destinations, including Tijuana (TIJ), Tulum (TQO) and Veracruz (VER).
