American Airlines Announces Additional Schedule Changes and Capacity Adjustments

American Airlines announced on Tuesday that they are making additional schedule changes and reducing capacity due to the current customer demand environment. The changes include international, trans-pacific and domestic capacity reductions.

Today, American Airlines announced that they would make additional schedule changes and reduce capacity due to lower customer demand related to COVID-19. The carrier will reduce international peak summer 2020 capacity by 10 percent and trans-Pacific capacity by 55 percent compared to the previous schedule. Additionally, the airline will reduce domestic capacity by 7.5 percent in April versus the current schedule. American Airlines will also deploy widebody aircraft on key domestic routes and introduce new summer seasonal service between Chicago (ORD) and Honolulu (HNL) with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
