For summer 2025, American Airlines will expand their network from Miami International Airport to Europe, including first-ever service to Rome Fiumicino Airport and additional flights to London Heathrow.
On Wednesday (January 6, 2024), Miami international Airport (MIA) announced that for summer 2025 American Airlines will expand their Miami-Europe network. The expansion includes the carrier’s first-ever service between Miami and Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), as well as additional flights to London Heathrow (LHR). American will operate double-daily flights between MIA and LHR for the summer 2025 season. With the carrier’s joint business partners, the new LHR service complements flights to other partner hubs, offering seamless connectivity to over 175 destinations across Europe.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Miami-Dade County’s Mayor, Daniella Levine Cava, said,
“I am proud to celebrate our largest flying partner, American Airlines, and their announcement to strengthen its transatlantic network at MIA. This expansion reflects Miami-Dade County’s growth as a key link between North America, Europe, and beyond. We appreciate American Airlines for their ongoing commitment to the Miami market and look forward to welcoming even more of their travelers to our community.”
Also commenting on an expansion of their Miami-Europe network, American Airlines’ Vice President of MIA Operations, Juan Carlos Liscano, added,
“As Miami’s Hometown Airline, we are proud to strengthen our commitment to providing customers with more options out of MIA. Our rapidly expanding network is a testament to our commitment to Greater Miami. We are flying our largest schedule on record, with over 400 flights a day to more than 155 destinations around the world, providing our customers with an unparalleled network.”
The new service to Rome Fiumicino and extended service to London Heathrow complement the carrier’s extensive network from MIA to over 155 destinations in 45 countries. For the summer 2025 summer season, American will serve five European destinations from MIA, including year-round service to Barcelona, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, London and Madrid. American Airlines is the only carrier to offer direct service from Miami to CDG and FCO.
