Embraer has today announced that ANA Holdings has placed a firm order for 15 E190-E2 jets, while securing options for five more. This marks the first E2 order from Japan, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028.

On Tuesday (February 25, 2025), Embraer announced that ANA Holdings has ordered 15 Embraer E190-E2 aircraft with options for five more. This is part of ANA’s fleet renewal program, with deliveries scheduled to commence in 2028. With outstanding economics, the E190-E2s will enable the carrier to enhance nationwide connectivity, while providing an elevated guest experience.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Embraer Commercial Aviation’s Chief Commercial Officer, Martyn Holmes, said,
“We are honoured that Embraer’s E190-E2 small narrowbody aircraft will join ANA’s fleet and we look forward to the delivery of the first aircraft in 2028. The E190-E2 is the quietest and most fuel-efficient aircraft available, whose size perfectly complements ANA’s fleet of larger narrowbodies. Furthermore, the E2’s cabin will appeal to ANA’s passengers as it offers outstanding comfort and space with no middle seats. We look forward to seeing the aircraft take to the skies across Japan.”
Embraer’s first generation E-Jets have been operating in Japan since 2009 and are supported by Embraer team members in the country, while ANA’s E190-E2 will be the first next generation E-Jets to operate in Japan. The state-of-the-art E2 Family features a spacious, quiet cabin, and Embraer’s signature two-by-two seating. Additionally, larger windows enhance the feeling of light and space, and Passenger Service Units add personalized comfort. Passengers will also enjoy more personal space, as well as additional overhead bin space.
The E190-E2's sophisticated aerodynamics, cutting edge wing design and new technologies combine to deliver a 25 percent reduction in fuel burn and emissions compared to previous generation E-Jets. Combined, Embraer’s E-Jets and E-Jets E2 Family aircraft are operated by over 80 airlines across 50 countries, with more than 1,800 units delivered so far.
