Atlas Air Worldwide Partners With Cirque du Soleil to Deliver LUZIA to New York City

Atlas Air Worldwide has today announced that they have been partnered with Cirque du Soleil to transport their magical LUZIA show to New York City. Atlas used two Boeing 747 Freighters to transport the popular show from Sydney for its North American tour.
On Thursday (April 17, 2025), Atlas Air Worldwide announced that they have partnered with Cirque du Soleil to transport their magical LUZIA show from Sydney, Australia to New York City. In March, the carrier used two Boeing 747-400 Freighters to transport the popular show for its North American tour. While typically the visually stunning production inspired by the vibrant culture and landscapes of Mexico has been moved by sea between continents, or by road within countries, this is the first time it has been transported by air since 2019, speeding up the transition by two months. Following its final performance in Sydney, Cirque du Soleil’s custom-designed sets required a meticulously coordinated and secure transportation process.
In Thursday’s announcement, Atlas Air Worldwide’s Chief Commercial Officer, Richard Broekman, said,

Also commenting on the logistics partnership, Cirque du Soleil’s Chief Show Operations Officer, Duncan Fisher, added,

During the entire journey from Sydney Airport (SYD) to New York (JFK), Atlas and Cirque du Soleil documented the entire operation in an exclusive video, which showcases this unique collaboration. The video highlights the expertise required to transport one if the world’s most iconic entertainment brands, ensuring the safe arrival of specialized lighting, sound, and water elements, among other unique props.
