Avelo Airlines has today launched new nonstop service between Punta Cana and Hartford, Connecticut, with service from Punta Cana to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina to commence on Saturday, February 22nd.

On Friday (February 21, 2025), Avelo Airlines announced the launch of their first scheduled international route between Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic and Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut. The inaugural flight to Punta Cana was greeted this morning with a traditional water cannon salute and festive Dominican dancers and musicians. On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the carrier will also start new direct service between Punta Cana and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina. Avelo will be the exclusive operator on these routes, and one-way fares are now bookable from $156 (T&Cs apply).
In Friday’s announcement, Avelo Airlines’ Founder and CEO, Andrew Levy, said,

Also commenting on Avelo’s new service, Punta Cana International Airport’s Director of Airside Operations, Giovanni Rainieri, said,
