Avelo Airlines has today announced the launch of new routes from Lakeland, Florida, with exclusive nonstop service to Grand Rapids, Michigan and Long Island MacArthur Airport in New York.

On Tuesday (March 11, 2025), Avelo Airlines announced the launch of new exclusive nonstop service from Lakeland International Airport (LAL) in Central Florida to Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as well as to Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) in New York. Starting June 2025, both routes will operate twice-weekly with a Boeing 737NG aircraft, with introductory one-way fares from $69. With the two new routes, Avelo now serves nine destinations from their Lakeland base.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Avelo Airlines’ Founder and CEO, Andrew Levy, said,

With two new destinations joining our seven existing nonstop routes, Customers flying at Lakeland can expect more time and freedom to explore Florida in any direction they choose.”
Also commenting on the new routes, Lakeland International Airport’s Director, Kris Hallstrand, said,

Avelo’s route between Lakeland and Long Island will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays starting June 12th, while flights between Lakeland and Grand Rapids will operate twice weekly on Fridays and Mondays from June 13, 2025.

Avelo now operates seven bases, including Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) in California, Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) in Southern Connecticut, Orlando International Airport (MCO), Wilmington Philadelphia Regional Airport (ILG) in Delaware, Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina, and Las Vegas (LAS), Lakeland International Airport (LAL) in Central Florida, and Charlotte’s Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA). Avelo will open their eighth base at Wilmington International Airport (ILM) in North Carolina in April 2025.
