On Wednesday (March 30, 2023), Avelo Airlines announced the launch of new service from Wilmington International Airport (ILM) in North Carolina to Tampa International Airport (TPA) and West Palm Beach International Airport starting June 22nd and 23rd, 2023, respectively. Both routes will be operated with a Boeing 737NG with introductory one-way fares from $29, including taxes and fees. To qualify for the promotional fares, tickets must be booked by April 10, 2023 for travel completed by September 6, 2023.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Avelo Airlines’ Chairman and CEO, Andrew Levy, said,
“Wilmington – we’re growing again! We’re seeing great support from the community and our flights are consistently filling up. With these two new routes to Palm Beach and Tampa, and added flights to Orlando, Coastal NC residents can continue saying hello to affordable, convenient and reliable air travel with Avelo.”
Also commenting on Avelo’s Wilmington expansion, ILM’s Airport Director, Jeff Bourk, added,
“We are thrilled Avelo keeps growing in our market, providing more affordable flights for our community. Avelo now flies nonstop to six destinations up and down the east coast. It’s amazing to think that just a year ago we had no service to Florida and now, with these new flights to Tampa and West Palm Beach – along with Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, we have four convenient flights to Florida. Thank you to the team at Avelo for continuing to invest in ILM and the southeastern North Carolina community.”
Additionally, Avelo will double frequencies to Orlando International Airport (MCO) with four weekly flights on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Mondays.
