Azorra Leases Two Embraer E175s to BERMUDAIR, Three New A220-300s to TAAG Angola Airlines

Azorra has placed two Embraer E175s on lease with Hamilton, Bermuda-based BermudAir. The aircraft lessor has also placed three new Airbus A220-300s with state-owned flag carrier TAAG Angola Airlines.

On Tuesday (June 20, 2023) International Aircraft lessor Azorra announced the placement of two Embraer E175s on lease to Hamilton, Bermuda-based BermudAir. The new aircraft will facilitate the carrier’s exciting launch plans to launch an innovative new Business Class service connecting Bermuda to the U.S. mainland and points beyond.


In Tuesday’s announcement, Azorra’s CEO, John Evans, said,

“We are pleased to partner with BermudAir to execute this unique opportunity in support of Bermuda tourism and the travel needs of the local business community. We believe the E175 is the perfect fit to add more dedicated scheduled flights, improving mainland connectivity for the residents of Bermuda and those who wish to visit.”


In a separate press release on Tuesday 9June 20, 2023), Azorra also announced the placement of three Airbus A220-300s on lease with TAAG Angola Airlines. The aircraft will be delivered in 2024 from Azorra’s orderbook with Airbus.

In Tuesday’s lease announcement, TAAG Angola Airlines’ CEO, Eduardo Fairen Soria, said,


“The incorporation of these A220 aircraft under the agreement with Azorra is a clear sign of our international credibility and a major milestone in renewing the TAAG fleet. We are deeply committed to growing the company by leveraging our market share and destination portfolio. Our passengers will benefit from higher connectivity options while planning their trips and a greater flight experience overall, as the Airbus A220 is a smart, tech-advanced equipment suitable for nowadays gadgets.”


Azorra’s CEO, John Evans, added,


“We are thrilled to expand our A220 footprint into Africa and be partnering with TAAG on their ongoing initiatives to implement their restructuring plan and strategic objectives. The A220’s technological advancements, right-sized capacity and range capability will be a game changer in TAAG’s markets.
