On Monday (July 15, 2024), Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based aircraft lessor Azorra announced that they have purchased one Embraer E195 from Aurigny, the regional carrier for the Channel Islands.  The aircraft has been operated by Aurigny since 2014 on routes to the UK and Europe, and the sale is part of the carrier’s fleet transformation program.  Aurigny operates five ATR and Dornier turboprop aircraft.

In Monday’s announcement, Aurigny’s CEO, Nico Bezuidenhout, said,

“The Embraer E195 is a very good aircraft that has served Islanders and visitors well over the last decade.  Fleet simplification is, however, a key ingredient to improving the sustainability and resilience of Guernsey’s air connectivity, and as such, the decision to exit the Embraer from Aurigny’s fleet.”

Also commenting on the E195 acquisition, Azorra’s Chief Marketing Officer, Michael Davis, said,

“The E195 continues to be in high demand and this opportunity to assist Aurigny is complementary to supporting the capacity needs of our existing Embraer customer base.”

Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Azorra is a relationship driven aircraft lessor that provides leasing, financing, fleet transition and asset management solutions to investors, financiers and airline operators worldwide.  Azorra currently owns and manages a fleet of over 275 aircraft, and has relationships with more than 100 airlines in over 70 countries.  The company currently has commitments to acquire new Airbus A220s and Embraer E2 jets.  Azorra also has offices in Dublin, Ireland and Toulouse, France.
