British Airways has introduced a variety of special touches to their onboard experience, including sweet desserts for Diwali and Thanksgiving-inspired menus with traditional turkey and pumpkin pie.
On Tuesday (November 7, 2023), British Airways announced the introduction of festive menus for Diwali and Thanksgiving, along with other new additions to the onboard experience. The new range includes special desserts for Diwali and traditional Thanksgiving-inspired dishes for guests traveling across their network. In celebration of the festival of lights on November 12th, British Airways is introducing festive desserts for customers across all cabins on outbound and inbound flights to India.
In Tuesday’s announcement, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, Calum Laming, said,
“We know that many of our customers will be celebrating Diwali and Thanksgiving this month, so we wanted to go that extra mile to spread some joy over the festive season, both on the ground and at 35,000ft. For those celebrating, we’d like to wish them a very Happy Diwali and Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at British Airways.”
Club World (Business Class) guests from London Heathrow to India will be able to enjoy Rasmalai, a popular sweet delicacy from eastern India, while World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy) customers can enjoy Kesar Peda, a traditional North Indian sweet made from Khoya, Sugar, Saffron and Cardamom. Customers traveling in World Traveller (Economy Class) will be served the popular Indian dessert, Motichoor Laddoo.
On return flights from India, British Airways’ guests will also be able to enjoy a range of Diwali-themed desserts. Club World guests will be treated to Kaji Pista of Gulab Jamun, a fusion-filled dessert accompanied by Rabdi, while World Traveller Plus customers can choose between Khoye Ka Laddoo or Doodhi Halwa, garnished with traditional dried fruits.

On November 23, 2023, British Airways will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day on all long-haul flights to/from the U.S. Customers across all cabins will have the choice of a festive main course and dessert. First Class and Club World guests can enjoy a traditional Turkey roast with all the trimmings, followed by a range of desserts including a classic pumpkin pie with nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger spices, a pumpkin and walnut cake, or a pumpkin-flavored cheesecake. World Traveller Plus and World Traveller guests will also be able to enjoy a traditional turkey roast, followed by a choice of pumpkin pie, gingerbread mousse, or a spiced pumpkin and white chocolate mousse.
Additionally, British Airways will be adding a range of special treats across their lounges at London Heathrow in celebration of Diwali and Thanksgiving. From traditional decorations with garlands and tealights, to specially designed main courses and snacks, including rogan josh, chicken balti and samosas, customers can enjoy the festivities between November 12th through November 15th. For Thanksgiving on November 23rd, lounge visitors will enjoy a range of dishes, including pumpkin and butternut squash soup or pecan pie in the Concorde room, as well as Turkey and smoked ham pie in their First and Club lounges.
British Airways has also introduced new World Traveller main courses, and will refresh their second service later this month, to include new hot light bite breakfast options on all shorter inbound flights from the U.S. to London (Heathrow and Gatwick). Additionally, British Airways has introduced Johnny Walker Blue Label XOrdinaire to their First Class Cabin, which was specially chosen by the airline’s Master of Wine.
