Condor to Launch New Service Between Frankfurt and Sanya in China via Bangkok

At ITB Berlin, Condor signed a memorandum of understanding with the Sanya Tourism Board and Sanya Phoenix International Airport in China.  Under the new agreement, Condor will operate three weekly flights between Frankfurt and Sanya via Bangkok.

On Tuesday (March 4, 2025), from ITB Berlin, Condor announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Sanya Tourism Board and Sanya Phoenix International Airport in China.  With the new agreement, Condor will operate three weekly A330neo flights between Frankfurt (FRA) via Bangkok (BKK) to Sanya (SYX) in the south of the Chinese island of Hainan starting July 2025.  Additionally, the agreement includes a joint commitment to promoting responsible tourism and preserving the destination’s rich culture.


In Tuesday’s announcement, Condor’s CEO, Peter Gerber said,


“We are delighted to be working with the Sanya Tourism Board and Sanya Phoenix International Airport to strengthen the tourism and cultural exchange and connection between the two destinations.”

 

Also commenting on the new tourism partnership, a representative from the Sanya Tourism Board, added,

 

“With the planned launch of the new flight connection and close cooperation with our new partners, we are convinced that we can offer our guests a very attractive new destination for vacation trips in Sanya.


“German and European tourists are very interested in vacation travel, ecotourism and cultural experiences.  Sanya is the perfect destination for them as it offers these unique benefits. We look forward to working with Condor and other tourism partners to promote Sanya in Germany and Europe.”
