Delta Air Lines has today announced an expansion of their Asia network with the launch of a first-ever direct route between Salt Lake City and Seoul starting June 12, 2025. The route will operate year-round on a daily basis with an Airbus A350-900.
On Friday (September 27, 2024), Delta Air Lines announced the launch of new exclusive daily year-round service between Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) and Seoul-Incheon International Airport (ICN) starting June 12, 2025. The first-ever nonstop route between the two cities will be operated with a state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 featuring Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin experiences. This will be the only route linking Salt Lake City to Asia, and will provide seamless one-stop connectivity via Seoul to destinations across Asia for customers throughout the Mountain West and Southwest U.S. regions.
In Friday’s announcement, Delta Air Lines’ SVP – Network Planning, Joe Esposito, said,
“The launch of Salt Lake City to Seoul service offers customers convenient access to Delta’s growing global network and ensures that virtually all U.S. demand is connected to Seoul via nonstop or one-stop service. As Salt Lake City continues to grow as a vital Delta hub, our strong joint venture with Korean Air allows us to offer unmatched connectivity between the U.S. and Asia, leveraging strong hubs on both sides. This ensures that customers, including those in the interior U.S., have access not just to Seoul but to key destinations across Asia.”
Also commenting on the new Delta route, Incheon Airport Corporation’s President, Lee Hag-jae, added,
“I’m confident that Incheon Airport will continue to grow as a global hub through our partnership with Delta Air Lines. Together, we aim to set the standard for airline partnerships, sharing a vision of leading the global aviation market as a top-tier airport and airline.”
The new Salt Lake City route complements Delta’s existing service to Seoul from Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Seattle. Along with SkyTeam partner Korean Air, Delta offers access to Seoul from 14 U.S. gateways, offering more Asian connectivity via Seoul-Incheon than any other trans-Pacific joint venture.
