Dublin Aerospace Appoints Dominic Ryan as General Manager Base Maintenance and APU

Dublin Aerospace has today announced the appointment of industry veteran Dominic Ryan as General Manager Base Maintenance and APU. In his new role, Mr. Ryan will be responsible for managing the company’s aircraft maintenance and overhaul processes.

On Monday (September 18, 2023), Dublin Aerospace, a leading provider of MRO services, announced the appointment of Dominic Ryan as General Manager – Base Maintenance and APU. Having assumed the position earlier this month, Mr. Ryan, an aviation industry veteran, is now responsible for managing the aircraft maintenance and overhaul process, including APU overhaul and repair, in compliance with all regulations. While maintaining the highest safety and quality standards, he will ensure the efficient utilization of resources to deliver aircraft and APUs to customers on schedule.


In Monday’s announcement, Dublin Aerospace’s CEO, William Flaherty, said,

Also commenting on his appointment as Dublin Aerospace’s General Manager – Base Maintenance and APU, Dominic Ryan added,

Dominic Ryan’s aviation career began over four decades ago at Aer Lingus as an Aircraft Apprentice, later spending a number of years as Aer Lingus’ Station Engineer in Cork. Next, he served as Deputy Chief Engineer at the Irish carrier, where he oversaw Line Stations management and critical projects such as transitioning line maintenance to Aer Lingus in Dublin. This leadership journey then led him to the role as Director of Maintenance at Aer Lingus, a position he held until joining Dublin Aerospace in September 2023.


Founded in 2009, Dublin Aerospace Group is the parent company of Dublin Aerospace and Exeter Aerospace, and is one of the world’s leading MRO providers with capabilities in APU Repair & Overhaul, Base Maintenance, IDG Repair & Overhaul, and Landing Gear Repair & Overhaul. Based at Dublin Airport, Dublin Aerospace operates a four-bay Base Maintenance facility that can currently handle approximately 70 aircraft annually, Including Airbus A320 and A330, and Boeing 737 Family aircraft. The company’s APU overhaul centre can also handle approximately 200 APU’s per year. Additionally, the company’s new state-of-the-art Landing Gear facility in Ashbourne, Ireland has the capacity to overhaul up to 350 B737 and A320 legs annually.
