easyJet is expanding their bases and networks at Belfast International Airport and Manchester Airport. An eighth aircraft will be added at Belfast, plus new service to Rhodes, while a 21st aircraft will be added to Manchester, plus new service to Murcia, Spain.
On Tuesday (November 29, 2022), easyJet announced an expansion of their base at Belfast International Airport, which will receive its eighth based aircraft, along with a new route to the Greek Island of Rhodes. Flights and easyJet holidays packages to Rhodes will launch on June 3, 2023 with two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Tickets on the Belfast-Rhodes route will be available for booking from December 7, 2022. The additional aircraft, a 186-seat Airbus A320neo, joins three 156-seat Airbus A319s, two 186-seat A320s and two 186-seat A320neos currently based in Belfast. The new aircraft will create approximately 40 new local job opportunities at the airport.
In today’s announcement, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, Ali Gayward, said,

In a separate press release on Tuesday (November 29, 2022), easyJet also announced an expansion of their base and network at Manchester Airport. The carrier will add a 21st based aircraft in Manchester from May 2023, a 186-seat Airbus A320neo, which is expected to create around 40 local job opportunities at the airport. easyJet’s Manchester-based fleet will now include six Airbus A320neos, along with 15 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. easyJet will also launch new service between Manchester and Murcia in South East Spain from May 2, 2023. The route will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and tickets will be available for booking from December 7, 2022.
