easyJet Launches Door-to-Door Luggage Service in Collaboration with Airportr

easyJet has become the first airline in Europe to offer new luggage collection, delivery, and door-to-door services in collaboration with Airportr. Customers can now choose to check-in luggage from home, skip bag drop, and avoid baggage collection upon arrival.

On Thursday (November 9, 2023), easyJet announced the launch of a new luggage collection, delivery and door-to-door service in partnership with baggage collection and delivery service, Airportr. With the new service, customers traveling from London Gatwick and Geneva now have the option to check in their baggage from home, thereby avoiding bag drop on departure, and breezing past baggage collection upon arrival. Initially, easyJet will offer three services for customers at London Gatwick and Geneva airports.

In Thursday’s announcement, easyJet’s Chief Commercial Officer, Sophie Dekkers, said,

“We are always looking at how we can innovate with the products and services we offer to ensure we are providing more of the choices our customers want, so we are excited to be introducing Airportr’s services initially from London Gatwick and Geneva, to help make travel even easier for our customers, whether they are flying for business or leisure.”

Also commenting on the new service collaboration, Airportr’s CEO, Randel Darby, added,

“Today’s announcement that we’re launching Airportr across two of easyJet’s top tier airports marks another significant step forward for off-airport baggage management. Travelers continue to prioritize speed and convenience and are increasingly turning to off-airport processes to achieve it. As an airline, easyJet is committed to getting their customers through the airport faster, whilst delivering the best experience when travelling with baggage. We’re delighted that Airportr can support easyJet on this mission, with bag-free travel now possible to, through and from airports.”

Customers traveling from London Gatwick or Geneva airports can now check in their bags from a designated pickup point such as their home, office or hotel, which will then be collected by an accredited driver and later collected from the baggage belt upon arrival. Inbound travelers to Geneva from any easyJet airport can book for a delivery of their bags to their destination, such as their home or hotel. Customers on departure from London Gatwick to Geneva can book door-to-door service, a seamless luggage experience, that means they can check bags from home, which will later be delivered to their final destination.

In addition to becoming Europe’s first airline to offer the new service, easyJet has included the option in their bundled fare, meaning customers flying on a FLEXI fare between Gatwick and Geneva will enjoy this service as part of their booking. The service is available for flights to any easyJet destination across Europe for flights on departure from London Gatwick or Geneva from £37. Celebrating the launch of the new Airportr service, easyJet will offer the first 300 customers a 30 percent discount by using the code: 30OFFAIRPORTRLAUNCH.
