The cabin features the highly-anticipated new Business Class seats, and the carrier’s popular Premium Economy Class product will also make its debut on the 777. The total aircraft revamp took 37 days, and will enter service today four days ahead of schedule, thanks to the expertise of Emirates’ highly seasoned in-house engineering team.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Emirates Airline’s President, Sir Tim Clark, said,

Emirates’ first Boeing 777 entered refurbishment in early July, with plans to add 24 new Premium Economy seats in three rows in a 2-4-2 abreast configuration. The 19.5-inch wide cream leather seats offer enhanced comfort with a generous 38-inch pitch, an eight inch recline, and a six-way adjustable headrest.

The 38 new Business Class seats are set in a 1-2-1 configuration and feature an ergonomic 20.7-inch wide seat that converts into a flat-bed that reclines up to 78-6 inches, as well as a padded headrest for extra comfort. With a four abreast layout, every Business Class guest has direct aisle access. Additionally, each seat features a personal mini-bar, a dining/work table, multiple charging outlets, a touch screen seat controller for IFE and seat operation, along with a 23-inch HD screen. The refreshed Boeing 777 Business Class cabin also includes a small bar for customers to grab mid-flight snacks and refreshments.

As part of an investment of over $3.0 billion, Emirates will refurbish another 80 Boeing 777s. In addition of service to Geneva, the carrier will deploy their newly upgraded 777s to Tokyo Haneda and Brussels in the coming weeks. The first Boeing 777 refresh took 37 days and 18,000 man hours to complete, and required 330 square-meters of carpet, 340 laminate sheets, 8,000 square-feet of leather, 800 meters of fabric and 300 liters of paint.
In total, Emirates has earmarked 191 Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft for a complete makeover, as part of the largest known airline industry retrofit program ever. Upon completion, the carrier will have installed 8,104 next-generation Premium Economy seats, 1.894 First Class suites, 11,182 upgraded Business Class seats, and 21,814 Economy Class seats. Newly refurbished aircraft currently operate to New York-JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, London Heathrow, Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangalore, Sao Paulo, Tokyo Narita, Osaka, Geneva and Dubai.
