Emirates Launches Codeshare Partnership With Indonesia’s Batik Air

Emirates has activated a new codeshare partnership with Batik Air, expanding single-ticket and baggage connectivity to 25 points in Indonesia. Emirates has placed their code on eight routes via Jakarta and to 17 additional domestic points via interline agreement.

On Friday (October 21, 2022), Emirates announced the start of a new codeshare and interline partnership with Batik Air, a member of the Lion Air Group. Under the agreement, Emirates will place their code on eight routes operated by Batik Air via Jakarta with service to Balikpapan (BPN), Denpasar (DPS), Medan (KNO), Manado (MDC), Padang (PDG), Surakarta (SOC), Surabaya (SUB) and Makassar (UPG). Additionally, under the interline agreement, Emirates’ customers can conveniently access 17 additional domestic points such as Praya (LOP), Semarang (SRG), Sorong (SOQ) and more. The codeshare partnership offers the convenience of single-ticket booking and one baggage policy.


Emirates has offered service to Indonesia since 1992, when they inaugurated service to Jakarta. Earlier this year, the carrier also launched a codeshare partnership with Garuda, Indonesia’s national carrier, which offers access to eight domestic points beyond Jakarta and Bali. Additionally, Emirates has codeshare agreements with 26 airline partners and two rail companies, as well as 110 interline partners worldwide.
