On Monday (July 1, 2024), Emirates revealed the first destinations to be served by their newly refreshed Boeing 777 fleet.  Guests traveling to Geneva, Tokyo Haneda and Brussels will be first to experience the upgraded onboard experience.  The first 777 will undergo a full interior refresh starting July 1st, and will feature a refurbished First Class cabin, 38 new Business Class seats in an updated 1-2-1 configuration, 24 signature Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy Class seats.  Emirates expects the first refurbished aircraft to re-enter passenger revenue service on August 11, 2024.

In Monday’s announcement, Emirates Airline’s Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, said,

“With the addition of the newly retrofitted Boeing 777s to our fleet, we’re capturing the opportunity to introduce our highly acclaimed products like Premium Economy to more cities already served by this aircraft type in our network, in addition to more seating variety in four classes.

“Borrowing inspiration from our flagship A380 in every cabin, our Boeing 777 with revamped interiors boast the very best in customer comfort and will feature modern design details and signature cabin finishings, with a new Business Class cabin that provides more privacy for our customers, in addition to other thoughtful touches that underscore our exceptional value proposition.  Our investment and intense focus on offering the best possible product across every cabin class also ensures we provide a consistent experience on both the Boeing 777s and A380s.”

Emirates’ refreshed Business Class cabin will focus on personalized privacy and elevated comfort with generously 44-inch pitched seats that convert into comfortable 20.7 inch flat beds.  With a staggered seating arrangement, all Business Class guests will enjoy direct aisle access.  Each seat also features a touch screen controller for IFE and seat operation, along with a personal 23-inch HD screen, which is linked to the carrier’s award-winning ‘ice’ entertainment system.  Additionally, Business guests will appreciate a personal mini-bar, ample storage, charging outlets and more.  The refreshed Business Class cabin also features a small grab-and-go bar for guests to quickly pickup inflight snacks and refreshments.

In total, Emirates has earmarked 191 aircraft for a full revamp, including 81 Boeing 777s, representing an over $3.0 billion investment. The first nose-to-tail refurbished Boeing 777 will re-enter passenger service on August 11th as EK 83/84 to/from Geneva, as EK 312/313 to/from Tokyo Haneda on September 1st, and on September 11th as EK 183/184 to/from Brussels.
