Emirates has today announced an increase in frequencies to Madagascar following the successful route launch in September 2024. From April 2, 2025, the carrier will boost the schedule from four to six flights weekly.

On Wednesday (January 15, 2025), Emirates announced an increase in frequencies on their route between Dubai and Madagascar, originally launched in September 2024, due to robust travel demand. Starting April 2nd, 2025, the schedule will be increased from four to six weekly flights. The route frequency expansion was announced today at a press conference held by Madagascar’s Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Tourism, and Emirates in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. With the frequency increase, the schedule between Dubai and Antananarivo, via Mahe, will operate all days except Mondays. Emirates’ boosted Boeing 777 frequencies to Madagascar will also add cargo capacity for imports and exports, with the ability to accommodate 20 tonnes of belly-hold cargo per flight.
Speaking at today’s press conference, Emirates’ SVP – Commercial Operations for West Asia and the Indian Ocean, Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, said,
“We are pleased to boost our services to Madagascar by offering two additional flights per week in line with soaring demand for travel since the start of operations. Our growing flight schedule to the island means better connectivity, more choice and convenient options for travellers. Enhancing services will also strengthen the economic ties between Madagascar and the UAE, by supporting more inbound and outbound leisure and business travel to the island and bolstering trade lanes with additional cargo capacity. As tourism to Madagascar flourishes, local businesses thrive, generating a ripple effect that benefits the local communities. We would like to thank the authorities, the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Tourism for their support, and we look forward to strengthening our connections and supporting the nation’s development as it looks towards the future.
“We have been diligently supporting the country’s tourism agenda by promoting the destination across our network, which is evident from the healthy bookings, and we will make every effort to continue raising awareness around the vibrant island’s unique charm and stunning natural landscapes to support sustainable traffic growth.”

Emirates has supported tourism to Madagascar by promoting it as a top Indian Ocean holiday destination to their global network of tour operators. Additionally, the carrier’s promotional efforts have included planning familiarization trips for 32 top travel agencies from major feeder networks to visit the island. Madagascar is home to three UNESCO world heritage sites, and is world-famous for its thriving biodiversity.
