Ethiopian Airlines has today announced the launch of their inaugural flight between Addis Ababa and Port Sudan, complementing existing service to Khartoum.
On Tuesday (October 15, 2024), Ethiopian Airlines announced the launch of their inaugural flight between Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and Port Sudan. The new destination in Sudan will be served daily, complementing existing service to Khartoum. Today’s inaugural flight followed a launch ceremony in the Ethiopian capital attended by delegates from the Republic of Sudan to Ethiopia and Ethiopian Airlines’ executives.
Speaking at today’s ceremony, Ethiopian Airlines Group’s CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, said,
“We keep growing our network in Africa to provide seamless air connectivity while fostering commerce and tourism within the continent and beyond. With the launch of this flight today, we are opening a new chapter of connectivity in East Africa and the entire continent. We are bringing the world closer to The Sudan and creating a stronger economic link to businesses.”
Located on the Red Sea, Port Sudan is home to the country’s main seaport. Port Sudan is also known for its beautiful beaches, along with excellent scuba diving.
