Ethiopian Airlines to Launch New Service Between Addis Ababa and Sharjah, UAE

Starting June 1st, 2025, Ethiopian Airlines will launch new service between Addis Ababa and Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.  The route will operate four times weekly with a Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.

On Tuesday (April 8, 2025), Ethiopian Airlines announced the launch of new service between Addis Ababa and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).  The route will operate four times weekly with a Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft.  Flight ET 622 will depart Addis Ababa (ADD) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 22:05, and arrives in Sharjah (SHJ) at 03:25.  The return flight, ET 623, will depart Sharjah on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 04:25, and arrives back in Addis Ababa at 07:45.


In Tuesday’s announcement, Ethiopian Airlines’ CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, said,


“We are excited to expand our passenger flight network in the U.A.E. with the addition of Sharjah, a key economic hub in the United Arab Emirates.  This new service complements our existing cargo operations and strengthens our connectivity in the Middle East.  With enhanced travel options, our customers can now explore the UAE’s rich cultural heritage and dynamic business landscape with greater convenience.”


Ethiopian Airlines operates over 100 weekly passenger and cargo flights to over 17 Middle East destinations.  The carrier’s presence in the region dates back to 1979, when they launched flights to Dubai, marking nearly five decades of service to the UAE.
