Etihad Airways announced on Tuesday that they will be increasing their seasonal service from Abu Dhabi to Alexandria and Salalah for the summer 2020 season. A fifth weekly frequency has been added and seasonal availability has been extended by three weeks.
On Tuesday, Etihad Airways announced that they will expand their seasonal summer 2020 service to Alexandria, Egypt and Salalah, Oman. Based on the success of these routes during the summer 2019 season, the carrier will add a fifth weekly frequency and extend the season by three weeks from June 25, 2020 to September 15, 2020. The new weekly flight will be added to both routes on Fridays, to complement the existing Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday service and the routes will be serviced by Airbus A320s.
Including the newly announced service, Etihad will now operate 33 weekly flights to Egypt with 28 flights to Cairo and five to Alexandria. Oman will now be served with 26 weekly flights, including 21 to Muscat and five to Salalah. Alexandria is the second largest city in Egypt and is known for its beautiful Mediterranean coastline and rich history. Salalah is popular during the summer season for its unique “Khareef” or green season and offers visitors an abundance of natural beauty and vibrant culture.
The new service to Alexandria (EY660) departs Abu Dhabi at 1:55PM, arriving Alexandria at 3:40PM, while the return flight (EY661) departs Alexandria at 4:35PM and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 10:25PM local time. The flight to Salalah (EY390) departs Abu Dhabi at 8:15AM, arriving Salalah at 10:00AM, while the return flight (EY391) departs Salalah at 10:55AM and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 12:40PM. The flights are available on the same schedule five times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
