Etihad Airways has announced the opening of a dedicated U.S. Customs Pre-Clearance lounge at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. The exclusive space also offers direct boarding on select flights for premium guests.
On Thursday (January 2, 2025), Etihad Airways announced the opening of a new dedicated U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) pre-clearance lounge at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi. The lounge officially opened on December 30, 2024, and also offers direct boarding on select flights for premium guests. The new facility features a refines selection of beverages and light dining options, complementing Etihad’s premium travel experience.
In Thursday’s announcement, Etihad Airways’ Chief Operations and Guest Officer, John Wright, said,
“This new lounge marks another milestone in our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for our guests. By combining our premium lounge service with the convenience of U.S. Preclearance, we’re offering our guests an elevated journey through Abu Dhabi before they even board their flight. Zayed International is the only Middle East hub to offer this time-saving service.”
Etihad’s new U.S. Pre-Clearance Lounge welcomes eligible guests traveling in The Residence, First or Business Class, as well as Platinum and Emerald Etihad Guest members. Additionally, access is available for purchase, subject to availability. Etihad invites eligible guests to begin their journey at the carrier’s acclaimed First or Business Class Lounge in the main terminal before heading to the CBP Pre-Clearance facility.
Currently, Etihad serves four U.S. destinations with nonstop flights, including Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), New York (JFK) and Washington D.C. (IAD). The carrier is also launching new service to Atlanta (ATL) in July 2025, further strengthening their commitment to the North American market.
