From December 2024, pending U.S. government approval, Fiji Airways will launch new, first-ever direct service between Fiji and Dallas, Texas. The route will operate three times per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with an Airbus A350-900 XWB.
On Wednesday (August 7, 2024), Fiji Airways announced the launch of first-ever direct service between Nadi, Fiji and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in Texas from December 2024 (pending government approval). The new direct 13-hour route will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with a state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 XWB, featuring 33 lie-flat Business Class seats, all with direct aisle access.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Fiji Airways’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Andre Viljoen, said,
“Introducing a direct service between Fiji and Dallas is a really exciting milestone for Fiji Airways, as we continue to increase Fiji’s connectivity with the United States and beyond offering our guests more travel options.”
Also commenting on the new service to Dallas, Fiji’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Strategic Planning, National Development and Statistics, the Hon. Professor Biman Prasad, added,
“Fiji Airways’ new direct route to Dallas is an exciting development for Fiji and will help pave the way for expanded opportunities in tourism and trade between our two nations. Dallas has immense potential as a new source market for Fiji’s tourism industry, with DFW International Airport currently ranked the third-busiest airport in the world and the state of Texas home to some of the fastest-growing counties in the United States.”
The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart on December 10, 2024, and tickets are now available for booking with special introductory fares. Inbound customers to DFW will also enjoy convenient one-stop connectivity to an additional 247 destinations with American Airlines. Dallas will become Fiji Airways’ 24th direct international destination, and fifth North American gateway, joining Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu and Vancouver. In the coming year, Fiji Airways plans on joining American Airlines’ AAdvantage® loyalty program, and will also become the 15th full member of the oneworld alliance.
