Finnair and American Airlines have inked a new codeshare agreement, which includes American Airlines’ flights from Dallas-Fort Worth to 12 destinations in Mexico.
On Monday (January 13, 2025), Finnair announced the launch of a new codeshare partnership with American Airlines. Under the agreement, Finnair customers will enjoy seamless connectivity with American Airlines from their Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) hub to 12 Mexican destinations including Guanajuato, Monterrey, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Cancún, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Mérida, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Querétaro and San José del Cabo airports. For the winter season, Finnair will offer up to daily service to DFW, which will be increased in summer 2025 to up to 11 flights weekly.
In Monday’s announcement, Finnair’s SVP – Alliances and Airline Partnerships, Frederik Wildtgrube, said,
“The cooperation opens up a comprehensive choice of destinations for our customers to Mexico, which is a popular travel destination from Finland and elsewhere in Northern Europe, especially during the winter. Besides Mexico, American Airlines offers our customers excellent connections via Dallas also to elsewhere in the United States and America.”
Also commenting on the new codeshare partnership, American Airlines’ Vice President of Partnerships, Anmol Bhargava, added,
“We are happy to offer Finnair customers smoother access to popular destinations in Mexico. The expansion will give customers more convenient connections on American’s expansive network from Mexico to Finland and beyond.”
With the codeshare partnership, Finnair guests can travel on the entire route with a Finnair flight number, and also collect Avios for the whole journey. The new commercial cooperation further expands the existing joint route network with Finnair’s Atlantic Joint Business (AJB) partner, American Airlines. Codeshare flights are now available for booking for travel from January 23, 2025.
