Today (December 14, 2020), Canadian ultra-low cost carrier (ULCC) Flair Airlines announced the appointment of Garth Lund as Chief Commercial Officer. Mr. Lund is an experienced ULCC executive who joins Flair from Budapest-based carrier, Wizz Air, where he most recently served as the head of Financial Management and Controlling. Previously, he served as Wizz Air’s Head of Pricing and Revenue Management as well as Head of Network development. Today’s announcement further strengthens the executive team, beginning last October with the appointment of the airline’s new CEO, Stephen Jones, also from Wizz. In Monday’s announcement, Flair Airlines’ CEO, Stephen Jones, said,

“I am thrilled to have been able to attract a world class talent such as Garth to join the Flair Airlines team. Garth’s experience at the forefront of the extremely competitive European ULCC market will ensure that we bring the best possible products and pricing to Canadian customers, which will underpin Flair Airline’s rapid growth in this market.”

Also commenting on his new appointment, Mr. Lund stated,

“I am very excited to join Flair Airlines at the beginning of its growth journey. Canadian customers have long been denied the benefits of a real ULCC and Flair Airlines has a compelling mission to fill this gap. I look forward to being a part of helping Flair Airlines reach its full potential.”

Flair Airlines is Canada’s only independent ULCC and the company’s mission is to make travel accessible and affordable for all Canadians. The airline operates a fleet of Boeing 737-800s providing low fare service to ten Canadian cities including Vancouver, Kelowna, Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, Prince George, Winnipeg and Toronto.
