On Monday (August 26, 2024), Flair Airlines announced the launch of their $1 base fare initiative.  Customers can now book northbound travel from Mexico, the U.S., Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic from the unbeatable base fare of only $1.  The carrier will continue to roll out $1 base fares on different routes throughout the year.  The first wave of $1 base fares focuses on northbound travel, providing a unique opportunity for Canadians returning home, or guests from sunny destinations to explore the diverse and breathtaking landscapes of Canada.  Flair Airlines suggests that travelers check their $1 base fare page on a regular basis, as eligible routes will change on a regular basis due to seasonality and demand.

In Monday’s announcement, Flair Airlines’ CEO, Maciej Wilk, said,

“We are committed to breaking down barriers to travel, making it possible for more people to explore more places more often.  This $1 base fare launch is not a limited-time gimmick but a sustained commitment to offering unparalleled affordability across our entire network. And yet, our base fare is only a part of the total fare.  We hope that airports, particularly in Canada, will follow suit and lower their fees so that more people can be empowered to travel.”

Also commenting on the $1 fare initiative, Flair Airlines’ VP – Revenue Management and Network Planning, Eric Tanner, added,

“This is just the beginning. Our $1 base fares will be available across different routes and regions throughout the year, reflecting our commitment to democratizing air travel.  Whether you’re headed to the Rockies, the Atlantic, or anywhere else in our network, Flair will keep delivering affordable ways to see the world.”

Flair Airlines is Canada’s only independent ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) and the company’s mission is to make travel accessible and affordable for all Canadians.  The airline operates a growing fleet of Next Generation Boeing 737-800s and 737-8s, and is growing to serve over 35 destinations across Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Jamaica.  The airline plans on growing their fleet to 50 aircraft by 2025.
