On Saturday (November 20, 2021), Canadian ULCC Flair Airlines announced the launch of new service between Vancouver and Hollywood Burbank Airport in the Los Angeles metro area on Sunday, November 21, 2021. The inaugural flight will depart Vancouver at 11:15 on Sunday morning. The airline will also start service from Edmonton to Los Angeles Burbank on December 16, 2021. With the new routes, Flair becomes the first Canadian airline to offer service to Burbank. Celebrating the launch of the new routes, Flair is offering one-way fares from only CAD $99, including taxes and fees. The new Los Angeles/Burbank service complements the launch of flights to other U.S. destinations in November, including Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas. Additionally, Flair is starting service to Palm Springs and Phoenix-Mesa in December.

In Saturday’s announcement, Flair Airlines’ President and CEO, Stephen Jones, said,

“We are excited to bring our low fares to LA and become the first Canadian airline to serve Hollywood Burbank Airport. Our flight today is the start of connecting Hollywood North with Hollywood while providing a hassle-free experience straight to the hustle of downtown LA, the Hollywood hills and Burbank’s neighboring film studios.”

Also commenting on Flair’s new service, Hollywood Burbank Airport’s Executive Director, Frank Miller, said,

“We’re looking forward to having Canadian travelers experience the most convenient way to visit the Los Angeles metro area. We also know our local passengers will welcome and enjoy the ease and convenience of using this service to get from Southern California to Vancouver.”

Flair Airlines is Canada’s only independent ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) and the company’s mission is to make travel accessible and affordable for all Canadians. The airline operates a growing fleet of Next Generation Boeing 737-800s and 737-8s, and will serve 28 Canadian and U.S. destinations by spring 2022. The airline plans on growing their fleet to 50 aircraft in five years.
