Frontier Airlines Launches 10 New Routes From Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport

Frontier Airlines has today announced a major expansion at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with 10 new routes, including service to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Orange County, Seattle, Portland (Oregon), Fort Lauderdale, Nashville, Indianapolis and Kansas City.

On Friday (August 26, 2022), Frontier Airlines announced a major expansion at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) with the launch of nonstop service to ten new destinations. New service includes direct flights to Philadelphia (PHL), Baltimore-Washington (BWI), Orange County, California (SNA), Seattle-Tacoma (SEA), Minneapolis-St, Paul (MSP), Portland, Oregon (PDX), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL), Nashville (BNA), Indianapolis (IND), and Kansas City (MCI) in November 2022 and January 2023. With the added service, Frontier will serve a total of 22 destinations from Phoenix. Frontier’s Phoenix growth will be supported by a new crew base which is scheduled to open in November 2022, initially employing up to 180 pilots and 275 cabin crew.

In Friday’s announcment, Frontier Airlines’ President and CEO, Barry Biffle, said,


“This major expansion of service from PHX solidifies Frontier’s place as one of Phoenix’s largest airlines. We’re thrilled to offer these new routes serving some of the most popular destinations in America. Our commitment to future growth at PHX is strong as we prepare to open our new crew base in November and introduce this expanded array of convenient, affordable flight options for Phoenix-area consumers.”


Also commenting on Frontier’s expansion, Phoenix Mayor, Kate Gallego, added,


“Frontier Airlines is quickly advancing in Phoenix, and these ten new routes mark the growth of business and leisure travelers choosing our great city as a destination. We are grateful for the commitment that Frontier has made with its crew base and the employment opportunities it provides. More people will discover why Phoenix is a great vacation destination, business hub, and place to call home.”

To celebrate the launch of the new Phoenix routes, Frontier is offering introductory one-way fares from $19.00 to $99.00. To qualify for the promotional fares, tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on August 30, 2022 for nonstop travel on select days of the week. For markets with new service starting in 2022, fares are valid through February 2, 2023, while fares for routes starting in 2023 are valid through March 2, 2022. Blackout dates include Nov. 19-23, 25-28, 2022; Dec. 16-18, 22-24, 2022; Dec. 26, 2022 – Jan. 3, 2023; Jan. 6-8, Jan. 17-18, Feb. 20, 2023. A roundtrip purchase is not required.
