Frontier Airlines hopes to temporarily fill the void after a popular competitor dropped their iconic ‘bags fly free’ policy. From now until August 18th, Frontier customers will enjoy a free carry-on bag, free seat selection, and free flight changes.
On Tuesday (March 18, 2025), Frontier Airlines announced that from now through August 18th customers booking their ‘Economy Bundle’ can enjoy a free carry-on, a free checked bag (with promo code), free seat selection, and free flight changes on all nonstop flights. Additionally, customers can check a free bag for flights from May 28th through august 18th by using the promo code FREEBAG. To qualify for these limited-time perks, flights must be booked by March 24th, and Frontier is now offering one-way fares from as low as $39 (T&Cs apply).
In Tuesday’s announcement, Frontier Airlines’ CEO, Barry Biffle, said,
“We’ve always had heart. Some airlines are walking away from what travelers love, but we’re running towards it. Think of this as the ultimate ‘divorce your old airline’ deal. If travelers show us the love, we’ll make these perks permanent. At the end of the day, travelers just want to be valued. We’re bringing back the things people love about flying - free bags, free seat selection, and flexibility - without the extra fees. No games, just great value.”
Frontier has introduced ‘The New Frontier’ which provides more transparency through upfront pricing and options to meet the needs of individual guests. The enhancements include no change or cancellation fees, a ‘For Less’ Price Guarantee and longer flight credit windows, among others. The carrier also now offers UpFront Plus, a new upgraded seating option with extra leg and elbowroom, plus an empty middle seat, in the first two rows of the aircraft.
