Frontier Airlines celebrated the official opening of their new base in Cleveland (CLE) on Thursday, March 14th. The base will support over 400 cabin crew, pilot and maintenance positions, generating $80 million in local wages annually.
On Thursday (March 14, 2204), Frontier Airlines celebrated the official opening of their new crew base at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE). The new base is expected to employ up to 110 pilots, 250 flight attendants, and 50 maintenance personnel within the first year, generating nearly $80 million in local wages annually. Frontier will serve a total of 30 destinations from Cleveland by summer 2024, with an average increase in peak summer daily departures by 38 percent compared to last year.
In Thursday’s announcement, Frontier Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Customers, Alex Clerc, said,
“We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of a crew base in Cleveland, which is a clear demonstration of our strong commitment to CLE now and for many years to come.”
Also commenting on the opening of the new CLE base, Frontier’s SVP – Human Resources, Steve Schuller, said,
“This new crew base will bring quality jobs to the Cleveland community and allow us to expand our affordable and convenient travel options to those across the region.”
Cleveland’s Director of Port Control, Bryant L. Francis C.M., added,
“Today’s event brings the start of a new and more vibrant chapter for the City of Cleveland and Frontier Airlines. We look forward to continuing to build on this partnership and deliver greater benefits to the millions of Northeast Ohio residents and visitors who look to CLE to meet their air travel needs.
