On Tuesday (January 18, 2022), Frontier Airlines announced the launch of new service from Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) and Houston’s William P. Hobby International Airport (IAH) starting this spring. The rapidly growing ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) will offer 13 new nonstop routes from the airports including service from Chicago Midway to Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Ontario (California), Phoenix, Tampa, Trenton, Fort Lauderdale, as well as between Houston Hobby and Cancun, Las Vegas and Orlando. Frontier’s new airports will complement existing service from Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Houston Intercontinental (IAH).

To celebrate the new flights and market growth, Frontier is offering introductory one-way fares from only $29. To qualify for the low fares, tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. EST on January 24th, for travel on select days from April 28th through June 29, 2022. Travel from Chicago Midway to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando is valid from October 13th through November 16, 2022. A seven day advance purchase applies, but a roundtrip purchase is not required. Blackout dates include May 27-30, 2022.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Frontier Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Commercial, Daniel Shurz, said,

“We’re excited to strengthen our position in two of the five largest metro areas in the country with 13 new routes and two additional airport options for our customers flying to or from Chicago or Houston. Frontier’s growth in 2021 was nothing short of remarkable and our team continues to look ahead at new opportunities to expand ‘Low Fares Done Right’ across both the U.S. and our rapidly growing international network. This strategic announcement situates Frontier to capture strong existing demand and stimulate new traffic with affordable fares and convenient service.”

Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ: ULCC) is committed to “Low Fares Done Right.” The Denver-based carrier operates over 110 Airbus A320 Family aircraft and has the largest Airbus A320neo fleet in the U.S., delivering the highest level of fuel-efficiency and noise footprint reduction compared to previous generation models. Frontier offers customers the ability to customize travel to their needs and budget, including base fares, a-la-carte options and one low-priced bundle called the WORKS.

Frontier’s commitment to families includes their ‘Discount Den’ travel club which allows children 14 years and younger to fly free on qualifying flights. The airline’s family friendly FRONTIER Miles loyalty program allows guests to earn one mile for every mile flown and permits the family pooling of miles, making it easier to earn rewards. Frontier currently has around 230 new Airbus aircraft on order, which will help the airline continue to deliver on their mission of providing affordable travel across America.
