Frontier Airlines has today announced the launch of new service from San Diego to Chicago, Salt Lake City and Austin. Daily service to Chicago will start on June 12th, while weekly nonstop flights to Salt Lake City and Austin will commence on June 13, 2025.

On Tuesday (March 25, 2025), Frontier Airlines announced the launch of three new routes from San Diego International Airport (SAN) for summer 2025. Starting June 12th, the carrier will launch daily service from San Diego to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), while direct flights to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) will commence on June 13, 2025. With the additional routes, Frontier will now offer nonstop service from San Diego to eight destinations. To celebrate the new routes, flights are now bookable with one-way fares from $39 (T&Cs apply).
In Tuesday’s announcement, Frontier Airlines’ VP – Network and Operations Design, Josh Flyr, said,
“We are thrilled to announce these three additional routes as we continue to grow our presence in San Diego. With Frontier’s trademark low fares available on eight nonstop routes from SAN, now is a better time than ever for consumers in Southern California to make Frontier their airline of choice.”

Frontier has introduced ‘The New Frontier’ which provides more transparency through upfront pricing and options to meet the needs of individual guests. The enhancements include no change or cancellation fees, a ‘For Less’ Price Guarantee and longer flight credit windows, among others. The carrier also now offers UpFront Plus, a new upgraded seating option with extra leg and elbowroom, plus an empty middle seat, in the first two rows of the aircraft.
