Hawaiian Airlines Unveils First of Three Disney ‘Moana 2’ Themed Aircraft Livery Designs

Hawaiian Airlines has unveiled the first of three aircraft livery designs based on Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming animated musical, ‘Moana 2.’  The carrier has also launched the Navigate Your Own Adventure global sweepstakes.

On Monday (October 28, 2024), Hawaiian Airlines unveiled the first of three special liveries celebrating the November 27th release of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ animated musical ‘Moana 2.’  The carrier’s Airbus A330 features the courageous explorer Moana, the shape-shifting demigod Maui, and the menacing character Kakamora, as well as a ‘Welcome Voyagers’ message for all guests to see as the embark on their next Hawaiian Airlines’ adventure.


In Monday’s announcement, Hawaiian Airlines’ Director of Brand and Culture, Alisa Onishi, said,


“As modern-day voyagers, we pride ourselves in sharing our host culture and ensuring our guests are immersed in unparalleled comfort and breathtaking discovery as they travel with us across the Pacific Ocean.  Following the success of our first collaboration with ‘Moana,’ we are honored to reintroduce Moana, Maui, and their friends to our guests traveling between Hawaiʻi and Asia, Oceania, the U.S. continent and within the Hawaiian Islands.”


Also commenting on the marketing collaboration, Walt Disney Studios’ EVP – Partnerships, Promotions, Synergy & Events, Lylle Brier, added,


“As ‘Moana 2’ sails into theaters this Thanksgiving, we’re thrilled to team up once again with our friends at Hawaiian Airlines on such an exciting promotion that will bring Moana, Maui and their crew to new heights.”

In November, Hawaiian will reveal two more custom character decals adorning an Airbus A321neo which serves select U.S. markets and the Cook Islands, along with a Boeing 717, which operates between the Hawaiian Airlines.  In addition to the livery decals, all three aircraft feature Moana 2 designs on the overhead bins with characters and artwork from the films.  The Moana 2 themed aircraft will fly on Hawaiian's regularly scheduled U.S. domestic routes, as well as to American Samoa, Australia, the Cook islands, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Tahiti through March 2025.


In celebration of the new collaboration, Hawaiian has also launched their Navigate Your Own Adventure Sweepstakes, which runs through November 30th for residents of the United States, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea.  One winner from each market will receive 500,000 HawaiianMiles.  To learn more about the sweepstakes or to enter, please click here.
