Pratt & Whitney has today announced that International Aero Engines (IAE) has named Kelly Horan as the company’ new president, succeeding Kim Kinsley, who has held the position since June 2023.
On Thursday (June 13, 2024), Pratt & Whitney announced that Kelly Horan has been named as the new president of International Aero Engines (IAE). Ms. Horan succeeds Kim Kinsley who has held the role sine June 2023. IAE is a multinational consortium that includes RTX’s Pratt & Whitney, Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines AG. Earlier this year, Kelly Horan was named vice president of the V2500 programs at Pratt & Whitney, and she will now serve in both roles concurrently.
In Thursday’s announcement, IAE’s outgoing President, Kim Kinsley, said,
“Kelly is a proven leader with the right skillset to lead IAE into its next chapter and is well positioned to serve customers by delivering flexible offerings for the narrowbody segment, and supporting the growing customer base of the Embraer C-390 Millennium military aircraft. She is passionate about building high-performing teams, developing talent, championing diversity and inclusion, and collaborating cross-functionally. Under Kelly’s leadership, IAE will continue delivering the proven performance that V2500 customers have come to expect.”
Kim Kinsley will become IAE’s board chair, and will also continue serving in her role as Pratt and Whitney’s VP – Mature Commercial Engines, a role she has held since January 2024. In her new role as IAE’s president, Kelly Horan will lead the integrated program structure to support the IAE V2500 program, while ensuring the achievement of financial, business, technical, customer and partner commitments. Horan brings over 25 years of experience in engineering, supply chain and commercial aftermarket to her new role, most recently serving as Pratt & Whitney’s VP - Aftermarket, Mature Commercial Engines
Established in 1983, IAE has a collaboration agreement that has been extended to 2045. The company’s versatile V2500 engine currently powers nearly 3,000 aircraft for over 170 commercial, cargo and military operators in 80 countries. In total, more than 7.500 V2500s have been produced, collectively powering more than 275 million engine flight hours. Additionally, the engine powers the Embraer C-390 Millennium military aircraft.
