Iberia’s Director of Iberia Airports, José Luis de Luna, has appointed Antonio Rodriguez Aranda as the new Director of IBAS at the Madrid Airport, and Alfons Obradors Marcén as the new Senior Manager at El Prat in Barcelona.
On Wednesday (April 26, 2023), Iberia announced the appointment of Antonio Rodrigues Aranda as the new Director of IBAS at Madrid Airport, as well as the appointment of Alfons Obradors as the new Senior Manager at El Prat in Barcelona. In his new role, Antonio Rodriguez Aranda will lead the operations of Iberia Airport Services in Iberia’s most complex hub, which is also the airport with the largest number of IBAS clients, with over 50 airlines serving more than 30 million guests annually.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Iberia Airports’ Director, José Luis de Luna, said,
“We are in a key phase, as we are approaching the final stretch of the resolution of the handling licences. A decisive moment in which we have strengthened our structure by betting on experience, deep knowledge of the business and excellence in performance.”
Antonio Rodriguez Aranda is a Business Administration and Management graduate of Anglia Polytechnic University in Cambridge. He joined Iberia over 25 years ago and was responsible for the migration project of Iberia to T5 at London Heathrow in 2013. He also previously served as Manager of Training and Knowledge Management, Senior Manager of Passenger Service at Madrid Airport. Over the last four years, Antonio has served as Senior Manager at El Prat, where he contributed to the handling of business for Vueling, Iberia Airport Services’ main client.
Alfons Obradors Marcén will serve as ‘ad interim’ Senior Manager at Iberia Airport Services at Barcelona Airport (El Prat). He studied Economics at the University of Economic and Business Sciences at the University of Barcelona, and has over 35 years of experience with Iberia, most recently serving as Operations Manager dedicated to Vueling at El Prat.
