Indonesia AirAsia to Launch New Direct Service Between Darwin and Bali

Starting March 22, 2025, Indonesia AirAsia will reconnect the Northern Territory with Asia, by launching new service between Darwin and Bali.  The route will operate three times per week, with fares from AU $189.

On Wednesday (January 8, 2025), AirAsia announced that Indonesia AirAsia will launch new service between Darwin International Airport (NT Australia) and Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali (Indonesia).  Starting March 22, 2025, the route will operate three times weekly, offering over 1,000 weekly seats.  Inbound customer to Bali will also enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity via AirAsia’s extensive network to destinations across Asia.


In Wednesday’s announcement, Indonesia AirAsia’s CEO, Veranita Yosephine, said,


“Bali is now our largest hub in terms of flight capacity, driven by strong demand. These direct flights will cater to the enduring popularity of Bali as a destination for Australians and offer great low fare connections to over 130 destinations across the AirAsia Group network.  Passengers from Darwin can enjoy seamless connections via Bali to destinations like Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Hong Kong and Komodo Island starting from as low as under AUD300.


“At the same time, millions of guests from across Asia will be welcomed to the Northern Territory.  They will discover the extraordinary culture, wildlife and natural beauty of Kakadu National Park, Arnhem Land and other iconic locations where the tropics meet the outback.  We thank Airport Development Group and the Northern Territory Government for their support in making these services a reality.”


Also commenting on the launch of Indonesia AirAsia’s launch of new service to Bali, Airport Development Group’s Executive General manager, Sandra de Kock, added,


“Territorians have been calling for more options to fly to Bali and we’re excited to deliver with the return of AirAsia.  Bali has long been the number one holiday destination for Darwin residents and these flights will undoubtedly see a surge of travellers embarking on their Indonesian adventures.”
