ITA Airways Departs the Global SkyTeam Alliance

SkyTeam has announced that Italian flag carrier ITA airways has ended their membership in the global airline alliance.  SkyTeam and their member airlines are working to ensure a smooth transition, with the exit to be concluded by April 30, 2025.

On Monday (February 3, 2025), SkyTeam announced that ITA Airways has exited the global airline alliance.  SkyTeam, their member airlines, and other partners are working together to ensure a smooth transition, which will be concluded by April 30, 2025.  Customers are advised to contact their airlines directly with any questions related to SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus benefits, SkyPriority services, lounge access, mileage accrual and redemption for upcoming travel with ITA Airways.


SkyTeam member airlines will continue to serve nine destinations across Italy with over 1,000 weekly flights to/from the country by Aerolíneas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Air France, China Airlines, China Eastern, Delta Air Lines, KLM, Korean Air, MEA, SAS, Saudia and TAROM.  ITA Airways currently has bilateral flight agreements with Aerolíneas Argentinas, Aeromexico, Air Europa, Air France, Delta Air Lines, KLM, Korean Air, MEA, Saudia and Virgin Atlantic.  With ITA’s departure from SkyTeam these agreements may be subject to change, and customers are advised to consult their individual airlines for updated information.
