Today (August 24, 2020), Japan Airlines announced the trial of touchless check-in kiosks at Tokyo-Haneda Airport. The carrier has placed two of the new kiosks at Terminal 1 South Wing (Departure Level – Counter 18) which feature state-of-the art touchless sensors allowing customers to complete the check-in process without even touching the screen. The system uses infrared technology that allows customers to make selections by holding their finger 3 centimeters away from the screen. The kiosks were developed by Mitsubishi Electric and Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd., and the trial will run from August 24, 2020 through September 15, 2020. JAL continues to embrace new technologies which provide their guests with a safer and more secure travel experience.
